In August 2025, we were invited to Bulgaria by Apostle Dancho Asenov and his wife Diana. Bulgaria is a relatively poor country. It was our first introduction to Bulgaria.

We held three healing and deliverance services there among Bulgarians and Roma people. We saw the Holy Spirit moving powerfully. Grateful!

The first night we stayed in a nice hotel. On the second night we heard that we had been thrown out of the hotel for unclear reasons. Maybe my wife Tineke had not been nice? In any case, our suitcases were outside the rooms. Fortunately, there were extra bedrooms in the house of our hosts, so we had a good night’s sleep that night.

After a long car ride, we had a service where a lot of people came. That evening we stayed in a Bulgarian family’s house. That was definitely not disappointing. Clean, tidy rooms and friendly people. The next day, a few more hours of driving to the next location for another service. These were truly hungry people. A powerful Spirit-filled service followed.

What was remarkable was that it hadn’t rained for months and there was a real need for water. The residents couldn’t even take a shower anymore. We (Apostle Dancho and I) received a word from God that it would rain within 2 days. This word was shared with these dear brothers and sisters, and it happened just as God had spoken.

It was a wonderful time with Apostle Dancho and his wife. We look back very fondly on this Bulgarian adventure.
